Primeau DentalCARE THAT HELPS YOU SMILE401-737-9363Less movement. More confidence in your denture.
If your denture shifts when you talk or eat, implant-secured snap-on dentures may provide more stability. The denture attaches to dental implants and is removable for daily cleaning.
How snap-on dentures work
Small attachments connect a removable denture to implants in your jaw. The attachments help hold the denture in place while allowing you to remove it for cleaning. The number and position of implants are selected for your anatomy and treatment plan.

Think of two matching puzzle pieces.
One piece has a small projection. The other has a matching recess. The LOCATOR is the small button on the implant. The housing inside the denture holds the insert that fits over that button. They snap together to hold the denture in place.
Why patients consider them
Implant support can reduce denture movement and improve stability during speaking and chewing. It can also reduce reliance on denture adhesive. We will explain the expected benefits and limitations for your mouth.
Your treatment plan
We assess your gums, bone, medical history, and existing denture. Planning may involve imaging and several stages, including implant placement, healing, and fitting or adapting the denture. An existing denture can sometimes be used, but it needs to be evaluated first.
Looking after your smile
You remove the denture for cleaning and clean around the implants as instructed. The attachment inserts wear over time and may need replacement. Regular visits help us check the fit, attachments, and tissues around the implants.
Questions you may have
Are snap-on dentures fixed permanently?
No. They are designed to be removed by you for cleaning. A fixed full-arch restoration is a different option that stays in place and is removed by a dental professional when needed.
Can my current denture be converted?
Sometimes. We need to assess its condition, fit, strength, and space for the attachments before recommending a conversion.
How many implants will I need?
Upper arch: At Primeau Dental, we use a minimum of four implants for an upper snap-on denture.
Lower arch: A lower snap-on denture may use two, three, or four implants, depending on your needs and available bone.
Think of the implants as support points, like the legs of a table. Two implants can help secure a lower denture, while three or four well-positioned implants can spread the support more evenly and help reduce rocking.
More implants are not automatically the right choice for everyone. We assess your bone, implant positions, and denture design to recommend the option that best fits your mouth and goals.
